Obama’s Classmate At Columbia Raises New Questions | fleming-hayes.com 
This candid email was sent to us by someone who wishes to remain anonymous. We have confirmed its author was a student at Columbia University at the same time as Obama.
The points raised in the following email have yet to be addressed by the “main-stream” media, let alone the Obama Administration. What say you?
…It involves understanding Columbia’s history, his history and family relationships as well as Columbia’s admission policy.
Here’s the incredibly abbreviated version.
First, why Columbia? i.e. why a child from Hawaii, and a school in California would want to go to Columbia (rather than Harvard, Yale, etc).
Columbia is the birthplace of the Communist movement in the United States. John Reed, Rosa Luxembourg, et al had their meeting, their coffees right there on 116th and Amsterdam. It remains to this day the vibrant epicenter of the movement. The Communist Worker’s Daily is the largest distributed paper on campus after the school’s free daily.
If you recall, the gentleman that Obama’s grandfather ‘chose’ to be his African American role model, Frank Marshall Davis (who he cites in his books), chairman of the Hawaii Communist Party.
Next. Despite the press’s stories to the contrary, Obama has long ties, largely through, again, his grandparents, Davis and Valerie Jarret’s families, with yes, Bill Ayers.
And again, despite the press to the contrary, Ayers admission to Columbia just a few years after the planned bombing of Low Library was publicized and criticized all over the campus. His presence was well known and heavily documented. Jarrett’s father and Ayer’s father were best friends.
On campus, Ayers was as active as ever, leading the major movement at the time, unionizing the clerical workers. Trying to bring them into the Teamsters union. He was leading rallies, and marches ever day. It was severe enough so that my first year there (1981-2) the administration had to use their staff for us to register for classes, pay bills, etc.
Next, was the presence of Edward Said. I’m sure you know enough about him that you don’t need me to fill you in. Except that at the time he was a young assistant prof of history (his “Orientalism” was ultimately rejected by the history professor which is why it was submitted through the literature dept).
He [Obama]came for Said.
On another front. Columbia college has a unique system. EVERY student takes approximately the same 81 credits. This is the “core curriculum”.
Unlike other schools this is not ‘one from column A, and one from column B’ but the same courses for all undergrads.
You need 161 credits to graduate.
The college handbook clearly discusses the fact that it is effectively impossible to transfer in as a junior because there is no substituting these credits for classes taken anywhere else.
Hence, you will not be able to graduate, with the required major credits. (there is a way to appeal this – it has just never happened. Or, apparently did in his case).
So, how did a self admittedly poor student from a third rate college (Occidental) get into one of the worlds great liberal arts colleges at a time when they do not accept any transfers?
This is a question I have continued to ask.
Finally, I shared a class with him. Brzezinski’s Presidential Brief class. He made his presence known during what was the big issue of that day, the SALT treaty discussions.
Before the section of the course began, Brzezinski said that he would not entertain discussion about unilateral disarmament. That no President would ever consider it.
Obama began the section by standing up and trying to argue for it, forcing Brzezinski, for the only time in the whole year (this is the incident that made me remember him) and chiding a student and sitting him down.
What Obama then wrote was apparently the one article he ever published, about just such a policy in the Daily Spectator.
Interesting food for thought and certainly makes one wonder what else was buried when his college records were sealed…Thank you Anonymous for this insight.
